Hello! My name is Jeremiah and I make some pretty sweet grooming products.

The Bearded Bastard was created in 2012 in Austin, TX. All of our products are handmade by me in my studio in Austin. Originally created to maintain my own unruly beard and mustache, we've now expanded to help others control their wayward whiskers - I'm so grateful to have such awesome customers all over the world!

To figure out the inspiration for The Bearded Bastard, let's start with my childhood - back when I was just a wee (non)Bearded Bastard...

My father named me after Jeremiah "Liver Eating" Johnson, one of the most famous mountain men there has ever been. (At least according to Robert Redford and my father!) Once, when I was a kid, my father shaved off his trademark beard. I saw him and immediately ran to my mom, panicked, asking who that strange man in their room was. As you can imagine, my dad grew it back pretty quickly. I have always wanted to grow facial hair like my pops; but since I was not as blessed as him in the facial hair department, I was left with growing a magnificent Southern Gentleman's version. I'm not going to lie - my facial hair is bushy, scratchy, and a bit of a bastard to control. That's why I started creating grooming products.

You might ask where the scent inspiration comes from. l have always been drawn to the mountains - the smell of cedar, pine, and all the earthy goodness that goes with it. I normally wore that scent blend, much to the pleasure of my friends (who seemed to hug me a bit longer than might be normal). I love to make beautiful things and I hope you love my products as much as I do!
