R.E Byrd was an American naval officer, a trail blazer, and a man of intrigue who was known for his feats of daring exploration - most notably his flight over the North Pole. So basically, he was a bad ass who blazed his own trail in life as any man should. It is up for debate on whether he actually flew over the North Pole, but what man has not told a story or two that is questionable as to whether it really happened... (Especially if there is a little mulled whiskey involved...)
