Holiday Beard Decorations: Show Off Your Festive Spirit

During the holiday season, we deck the halls, putting up our favorite lights, ornaments, and tinsel to make our homes look festive, just in time for our favorite days of the year.  Since we put so much effort into decorating our homes, why not decorate our beards as well?

Yes, you read that right. A lot of guys are adorning their beards with holiday decorations this year, and honestly, we can’t get enough of it.  After all, if a guy has a long beard, why not find a whole new way to embrace the holiday season?

Where Did Beard Decorating Come From?

Like most trends that seemingly pop out of nowhere, you can thank Reddit and social media for the many men who are finding ways to incorporate holiday decorations into their facial hairstyle. But, when you think about it, it was only a matter of time before this became a thing. After all, long beards are making a huge comeback, and we’re always looking for new ways to celebrate the holiday season in the way in which we adorn ourselves.

How Men Are Decking Out Their Beards to Celebrate the Holiday in Style

The two things that we’re seeing on men’s beards are small tree ornaments and small LED lights, turning long, burly beards into what look like Christmas trees.  Many are getting extra creative, choosing ornaments that express their interests, while others are going for more traditional looks such as tiny little metallic balls that remind us of the trees we decorated as children.

How to Pull Off the Decorated Beard Look

Now, let’s talk about how to pull off this look properly for the very best results.

Make Sure Your Beard is the Right Length

First, this look is reserved for guys with longer beards – sorry, goatee enthusiasts.  In order to have enough surface area to adorn the facial hair with little lights and baubles, a guy has to have a relatively thick beard that’s at least a full inch below the chin.

Find Decorations that are Made Specifically for Beards

Now, believe it or not, you can find beard ornaments and lights online.  Because this trend has become so popular, companies are producing decorations that are specially made to attach to your beard.  So, go with these, as they’re more likely to attach securely and stay put throughout the day. Plus, having very large ornaments dangling from your beard can look, well, strange – not to say that a decorated beard isn’t, to some extent, but you know what we mean.

Wear it Wisely

Obviously, if you’re going to decorate your beard with holiday goodies, know when and where to rock this look.  A holiday party, for instance, is a far more appropriate occasion than, say, a work meeting.

Really Getting into the Bearded Holiday Spirit!

If you want to get into the holiday spirit like never before, it’s time to explore the trend of decorating your beard with holiday decorations.  This look has taken over social media over the last few weeks, and we’re loving every minute of it.
